Unbelief

It's that time again. I have an update on my current writing projects. I shared with you a few months ago that I was considering writing a Bible study through 1 John. That is still a desire of mine, but I've placed it on the back burner for now. Since around Christmas of 2019, I've been chasing a thought that springs from this passage.

And Jesus asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." And Jesus said to him, "' If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes." Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!" – Mark 9:21-24

I have always liked the father's cry in that passage: I believe; help my unbelief! The more I thought about it, the more convinced I was that I should be writing from these verses. So I began piecing some things together, forming an outline, and the picture began forming. Then, the whole world entered into this time of dealing with COVID-19, and it became set in stone in my heart.

We need to talk about unbelief.

Although things seem a little uncertain at the moment, I'm going to push ahead in faith. This Fall, look for the release of Help My Unbelief! I'll keep you updated as things progress, and if I can finish sooner, then I'll release it earlier. Stay tuned!
